Common name:Pride Of Madeira
Botanical name:Echium candicans

Mature specimens of this evergren shrub can grow to a size of 6'-8' tall and 8'-10' wide. In the spring, spikes of rosy-violet to blue-purple flowers appear. It should receive sun to part shade, with little or no summer watering when established. This plant can be severely damaged by frost below 25 degrees F. -Monterey Bay Nursery

Can vary from green to purple leaves. Screen. Small tree. Evergreen 12-15' x 12'. Green forms from Arizona hardier. Green forms have varied leaf forms. Short lived. Suffers from chlorosis. Full sun. Drought Tolerant. Purple forms more colorful in cold. Do not overwater. Moderate growth rate. Will tolerate partial shade. Susceptible to Texas root rot.

Purple Hopseed Bush or Hop Bush

Common name:Purple Hopseed Bush or Hop Bush
Botanical name:Dodonaea viscosa 'Purpurea'

This fast-growing shrub has an upright, branching habit that reaches a height of 12-15', with willow-like leaves that are 4" in length. Its foliage is bronzy-green in color, which turns a reddish-purple shade in the fall and winter. It has compact growth and requires full sun for the best results.

Lily of the Nile

Common name:Lily of the Nile
Botanical name:Agapanthus africanus

This evergreen groundcover/shrub will grow about 3' tall and has large green leaves with blue flowers ( there is a white variety) that bloom in spring and summer. It will grow in all soils but prefers loam soil.

Iceland Poppy

Common name:Iceland Poppy
Botanical name:Papaver nudicaule

This Iceland Poppy produces leaves that are divided with flowers appearing on stems 1-2' high. These flowers are cup-shaped to 3" across, and come in colors of yellow, orange, salmon, rose, pink and cream.
